Love & Truth Church Demonstrates That if You Build It, They Will Come

JACKSON, Tennessee, June 16, 2006 - Reverend Eddie Cupples knows a lot about building churches--both the human side and the infrastructure to house them. He led earlier start-up congregations and four previous construction programs, all applying pre-engineered metal building systems.

He already envisioned building a facility when he started Love and Truth Church in Jackson, Tenn., four and half years ago with just one family attending services in the banquet room of a Holiday Inn. The congregation had grown to 125 at Sunday services by the time the congregation met at a storefront and finally embarked on a building program.

Designed by Steven Newton, AIA, with the Church Architecture group within LifeWay, the project is the first of six planned phases. MS Burton Construction LLC, based in Jackson, completed the 12,648 square-foot multi-purpose facility in January 2004. Sunday attendance at the two services of the non-denominational church now reaches up to 500 and continues to increase steadily through word-of-mouth from congregates and a television ministry Reverend Cupples produces on the local ABC-TV affiliate that reaches 19 counties.

Liberty Building Systems, Bartlett, Tenn., supplied the clear-span rigid frame structural system with 26-gauge R-panel roof and wall systems.  The roof and wall systems, trim and downspouts are khaki with a Kynar finish. The predominant wall construction used EIFS-coated block.

The $700,000 project was completed in five months and provides sanctuary space with removable seating for 400 congregates, classrooms, a nursery and a spacious foyer with a Starbuck's style coffee bar.
