Liberty Provides Solution for Contractor, Owner

Memphis, Tenn., Aug. 7, 2009 -
Knoxville, Tenn.-based Schaad Companies needed a building solution to fill a recently acquired property and match a nearby development for a warehouse/office application. And when the element of time was factored in, the decision was clear – a metal building was the obvious answer.

“It’s the quickest and most cost-effective way to get cubic feet enclosed,” said Tim Dunaway, with Schaasd Companies. “And in a more challenging economy, choosing a metal building is the best way to go.”

Memphis-based Liberty Building systems™ was selected to provide a structure with the required office and warehouse functionality. The building consists of a 7,500-square-foot warehouse, 1,500-square-foot office and a 1,000-square-foot dock projection – bringing the total building area to 10,000 square feet. The building features Liberty’s ValleyRib™ architectural wall panels and seam loc roof on the main part of the building.

Schaad Companies designed and erected the design build project. The contractor chose concrete masonry units with a mix of split-rib and split-faced block on the exterior of the structure. Overhead Door of Knoxville supplied two manual overhead doors on the dock projection. Health Care Plus, Inc. purchased the building to house its medical supply and claim processing organization.
