MEMPHIS,Tenn., July 25,2008 – Meisner Farms replaced an old, dual-purpose scale house with this 4500-sq.-ft. agricultural storage building. The new building houses a much larger drive-through scale for semi-tractor trailer trucks that haul grain stored in a complex of metal bins on the farm. The building serves double-duty for storing large equipment the rest of the year.
Two brothers are the third generation to farm the original family property located near the town of Raymond, Ill., which is approximately 35 miles south of Springfield. They jointly work a total of 2000 acres expanded with leased land for corn, wheat and soybeans.
The brothers have preferred metal buildings for previous projects on the farm. In this instance, Memphis, Tenn.-based Liberty Buildings supplied the metal building systems that included the structural framing and LibertyRib wall and roof panels in a Rustic Red FreedomCote™ finish with Polar White trim. The project has three large overhead doors for truck access and egress. Skylights supplement electrical service to the building. H & H Construction Services, Carlinville, Ill., served as the metal building contractor.
