Liberty Building Systems manufactured this 8857 sq.-ft. church addition for Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris, Tenn.

BARTLETT, Tenn., May 9, 2007 - Holy Cross Catholic Church has occupied the present site in Paris, Tennessee since 1969. The town of approximately 10,000 residents, located 85 miles west of Nashville, has enjoyed steady growth due in large part to its proximity to resorts and parks along TVA's Kentucky Lake, one of the world's largest manmade hydroelectric power reservoirs. A 60-ft. high replica of the Eiffel Tower, donated by the Engineering School at Christian Brothers University, stands in a municipal park of Paris, one of 15 communities in the United States that share the name of the French city.

The diocese that oversees the rural community approved construction of a gymnasium building as part of the long-term development of the church campus that plans to eventually have an elementary school. Sports quickly became a secondary use of the facility by the 250 families in the parish. A church spokesperson said that today sports events represent only about 10 per cent of the current usage. Instead, the building has become a popular venue for wedding receptions, birthday parties, dinners and even seasonal theater events.
